California has a history of housing concerns ranging from homelessness to families not being financially capable to purchase a home. While these are serious concerns, Pure Hearts R Us (PHRUs) has engineered a way to address the affordability problem and place families and individuals into homes in California. PHRUs mission is to place 1 million families into homes. As of 2022, PHRU has placed over 1500 families.

Pure Hearts R Us has been in existence since 2007 and under minimal funding has been 99% successful in placing families and individuals, that have completed the programs, into homes most times being first time homeowners. PHRUs has re-engineered a housing education program that has garnered us our success rate. However, with additional funding, state of the art improvements to the education programs could be made that will help us reached and placed families into homes.

Throughout the years, PHRUs has expanded its approach to make the housing solution comprehensive. PHRUs has designed three programs to comprehensively address the housing concerns by infusing financial literacy with homeownership training. The programs are for Pre-Purchase Education, Post Purchase Education, and Future Development Efforts.

The Pre-Purchase Education program focuses on understanding the individual’s financial situation and how that applies to homeownership. The individual is taken through a series of consultations and courses that teaches the future homeowner how to fix their finances and obtain a home. At the end of the consultations and courses, the homeowner becomes eligible for financial support in the form of down payment assistance for their new home.

The Post Purchase Education program educates the individual how to maintain and upkeep the homes after the purchase. Courses such as Home Maintenance and Foreclosure Education are designed to ensure the new homeowner’s success in maintaining their home.

The Future Development efforts supports PHRUs goals of providing affordable housing too low to moderate income families as well as veterans and the elderly. The Future Development efforts are broken into four phases: Land, Surveys, and Permits, Phase I construction, Phase II construction, and Phase III construction.

Our programs support partnerships with community development objectives that align with PHRUS goals. Pure Hearts R Us housing education programs are an investment in the California consumer base and provide state-of-the-art tools needed for both the pre- and post-purchase processes.

To increase market awareness of Pure Hearts R Us across the state of California to improve the reach of the Pre-Purchase, Post Purchase, and financial education programs. To further the progress on the Future Development efforts in the area of affordable homeownership projects and associated business development projects. To support the Educational and Financial programs staffing needs and the creation of new jobs and business opportunities for the communities.
